VANEL is looking to locate volunteers with IT experience.
Throught the IT Supporters Network we’re looking to build a pool of volunteers who can help local third sector organisations (VANEL included) with both IT support needs and perhaps with larger IT projects.
If you have appropriate skills and have time to volunteer then we’d like to hear from you.
Each volunteer will need to register with the Volunteer Centre based at VANEL in Grimsby and we’ll then review your IT skills to see how you may be able to help other groups.
Please contact the Volunteer Centre in the first instance to register and tell them about your IT skills. Otherwise please feel free to contact me (Karl) to discuss your IT capabilities.

There is a new opportunity for organisations in North East Lincolnshire to access Future Jobs Fund support via NELC.
If your organisation has a significant IT administration need, there may be a possibility of you creating a role within your organisation for someone long term unemployed but who has appropriate IT support skills. FJF can fund a post on minimum wage for six months with the hope that you can make the post sustainable after that.
I know some organisations are looking into the possibility of recruiting IT administrators using FJF funding, including VANEL. If you would like to investigate FJF further please speak to Karen Goodwin and the Community Investment Team at NELC for information (more here).
If you would like to discuss your IT support needs further with myself, please give me a call on 01472 231123 (karl@vanel.org.uk).
