What are the aims of the North East Lincolnshire Third Sector Partnership?

The Partnership aims to unite voluntary and community organisations, charities, faith and equalities groups, social enterprises, co-operatives, mutuals and housing associations which provide services under the umbrella of the Third Sector in North East Lincolnshire.

This Partnership will provide a communication channel within the sector and with partner organisations, in line with the North East Lincolnshire Compact, ensuring that partners from the Third Sector are given the strongest possible strategic voice in the planning process via all relevant working groups and partnerships.

What are the Objectives of the Third Sector Partnership?

To be a focal point in North East Lincolnshire for all action related to the Third Sector.

To facilitate communication between Third Sector Organisations (TSOs) and other organisations including those in the public and private sectors.

To unite and give a voice to Third Sector Organisations.

To enable Third Sector Organisations to participate in the planning, development and delivery of key services in North East Lincolnshire.

To influence decision-makers and other relevant agencies.

To ensure the sector is effectively represented at strategic partnership level.

To encourage proactive participation in the LAA delivery by providing quality services.

To disseminate information, good practice advice and sharing examples of good practice.

To promote partnership involvement in and influence upon strategies that will benefit the sector as a whole across North East Lincolnshire.

How the Partnership operates

The key mechanism to put the principles and aims of the Partnership into action is the Third Sector Forum. Read more about the forum here.

Third Sector Organisations can become involved with the Forum, attend meetings, elect representatives and as appropriate participate in a number of Working Groups that have direct communication channels into the Local Strategic Partnership boards.

Within the Third Sector Forum a Pioneer Group operates to steer the direction of the Forum and encompasses those organisations willing and able to participate in significant activities within the sector.

The Third Sector Partnership as a whole is empowered and supported through the Third Sector Hub initiative operated by VANEL.

The Third Sector Forum puts the principles of the Third Sector Partnership into practice by bringing together Third Sector Organisations from across North East Lincolnshire to tackle specific issues and activities.

About the Third Sector Forum

The Forum meets bi-monthly with an AGM held yearly to select representatives from the sector.

Third Sector Organisations in North East Lincolnshire are welcome to join up with the Third Sector Forum. (see information about membership here).

The Forum has a number of sub-groups known as Working Groups which are focused on specific work programmes. The four Working Groups are:

Children and Young Peoples Services (CYPS)
Economic Development, Enterprise and Environment (EDEE)
Healthy Communities and Older People (HCOP)
Safer and Stronger Communities (SSC)

The groups can be contacted through their Chairs or Co-Chairs – information about the Third Sector representatives are here.

The direction for the Third Sector Forum and Third Sector Partnership is set through the Pioneer Group which has a number of representatives taken from the membership of the Forum .

The Third Sector Forum is supported and empowered through the Third Sector Hub operating from VANEL. The Hub provides secretariat services into the Forum and Partnership, organises and managed meetings, events and activities and helps wih the developmental work for the Partnership as a whole and the members in it.

Getting involved

If your organisation is not already involved then you may be eligible to join up with the Third Sector Forum, attend meetings and keep informed and connected. Your organisation may also align with one of the specifc Working Group agendas and you may wish to approach the chairs or co-chairs and get yourselves involved.

Often however, events are organised which are opened up to those not formally part of the Third Sector Forum membership. You are welcome to attend these.

Information about the activities of the Third Sector Partnership are also gradually becoming available through this website and is available to all. You can become involved still further by registering on this website which will allow you to post comments or get involved in the discussion boards.

The Third Sector Partnership is wider that the activities of the Third Sector Forum. VANEL and other Third Sector representatives are participating in a variety of groups, partnership, networks and committees to give a voice to the sector as a whole. Even if you are unable to participate fully within the activities of the Third Sector Forum you are encouraged to keep in communication with representatives of the groups to esnure you keep informed.
