Developing land or buildings – a capital project – within a community and for the benefit of the community is a very specialist direction for a third sector organisation to take. The Third Sector Hub is signposting and providing resources to support those Third Sector Organisations undertaking these asset based projects.

Capital Projects

In essence we categorise capital projects into 5 linked but cyclical stages:

Identification of properties and needs
Preparation for undertaking the capital project
Transfer of assets into community or third sector ownership
Development of the assets – the build or refurbishment
Management of the building or asset once ready
