These are the Terms of Use for the Training Facility at Melbourne House.

The Third Sector Hub Training Facility at Melbourne House, Grimsby is available for general hire as a meeting room, training room or as a full IT training facility for up to 10 people. Newly refurbished and equipped to a high specification, this town centre venue is ideal for many meeting and training purposes. Where?

The room is located on the 1st floor of Melbourne House
at 16 Town Hall Street, Grimsby, DN31 1HN.
Access is via VANEL reception at 14 Town Hall Street.

Availability

The meeting room has been part financed through external funding and is for the use of the third sector in North East Lincolnshire. Third Sector organisation bookings will take preference unless pre-payment has been received from other organisations

The room is normally available as a meeting room between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday and up to 6pm is possible with prior arrangement.

The room is normally available from 9.30am as a training room to allow for setup time.

IT training facilities

6 up to date desktop PCs are available plus 4 laptops
All desktops purchased March 2008. Laptops purchased March 2009.
8Mb internet capability on all machines (laptops are wireless).
Windows XP on all machines.
6 desktops can be configured for Windows Vista instead of XP.
Microsoft Office 2003 available on all machines.
6 desktops have Office 2007 on Vista as an alternative.
Machines are reset before each training course and as necessary can be configured to your specific environments.

A networked printer is available for b&w and colour printing from the training machines. This also includes a scanner.

Refreshments

When the room is booked as a Training facility (IT or otherwise) then drinks (water, tea, coffee etc) and biscuits are provided for the trainer and trainees within the hire costs.

When booked as a meeting room, refreshment costs (water, tea, coffee, biscuits) are as follows:

Hourly bookings 50p per person
Half day bookings £1 per person
Full day bookings £2 per person

Drinks are served from a Flavia drinks machine. Alternative arrangements via our kitchen or a Burco water boiler can be made on request.

Catering

There are no catering facilities on site (small kitchenette only).
Catering for lunches etc will need to be provided through external caterers. You can make your own arrangements (and inform us) or we can arrange catering for a £10 admin fee.

Other Equipment

Other equipment is available on request for use in the room. Most of this equipment can also be hired separately from the Third Sector Hub if necessary.

All of the above equipment is provided free of charge for ½ day or full day bookings when the room is booked as a Training room (rather than as a meeting room).

Above rates are for affiliated third sector organisations. Please enquire for other rates.

There is no telephone in the room.

Office services

Additional photocopying or printing is available at 2p per sheet.
Colour printing is 5p per sheet.

Printing on the printer in the room is provided free for Training course bookings subject to acceptable use. Over 100 sheets will be charged at 2p or 5p per sheet.

Special requirements

The room is on the first floor (up a staircase) and may not be fully accessible to those with certain mobility issues.

There is a disabled toilet on the ground floor.
A mobile hearing loop is available on request (free with room bookings).

Parking

The closest parking is Abbey Walk car park. £5 per day. Open until 7pm.

Melbourne House is within walking distance of Grimsby railway station and other town centre parking.

The Melbourne House Training Facility is managed through the North East Lincolnshire Third Sector Hub. Booking is via the Hub (www.thirdsectorhub.org.uk)

Room hire is secured only with a deposit of 50% of the room hire fee.

Cancellation will incur a charge as follows:
Less than 2 working days before date of booking – 100%
Less than 5 working days – 50%
More than 5 working days – 20%
