Quick basics about the Network

The Leaders Network arises from a project in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire known as the Third Sector Hub (www.thirdsectorhub.org.uk). This project is managed and delivered through Voluntary Action North East Lincolnshire (VANEL) (www.vanel.org.uk) as part of a process of making the Third Sector in North East Lincolnshire (including voluntary & community groups and social enterprises) stronger, fitter and more sustainable into the future.

The Third Sector Hub works with third sector organisations wanting to develop themselves through a ‘club’ known as Thrive. The first thing to evolve from this was the Thrive Trustee Network (www.thrivetrustees.org.uk) to help support Trustees of charitable organisations to support each other. This success has now led on to the creation of this new network to support leaders of third sector organisations.

The Thrive Leaders Network is managed from VANEL by myself, Karl Elliott and meetings are facilitated by Peter Fryer.

The Network itself is very much a face-to-face affair through the bi-monthly meetings. We share resources and opportunities at the meetings, but mostly it’s about informing, insipiring and challenging leaders of our local Third Sector Organisations to work together on their own personal leadership skills.

If you lead a Third Sector Organisation based in or operating in North East Lincolnshire, you’re welcome to join us.

Contact Karl here for more info.

If you can’t join the network I hope you’ll still find some thoughts on the website about leadership which will challenge you.
